Speech ServicesThere are two primary speech language pathologists (aka: speech specialist, SLP, or speech therapist) at Brunswick Acres Elementary School who evaluate and treat students with speech and language disorders. Eligibility for services is determined and aligned with the standards set forth by N.J.A.C. 6A:14. These disorders may include receptive language, expressive language, pragmatic language / social skills, articulation, voice, and fluency. Additional roles include collaborating with teachers and providing strategies, providing in-class support for student learning, and participating in SST, IEP, and eligibility meetings.

Mrs. Gabler, M.S. CCC-SLP
Mrs. Theresa Gabler, M.S. CCC-SLP earned her Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from William Paterson University. Mrs. Gabler has been practicing as a speech language professional for more than 20 years. Prior to this, she provided discrete trial educational and behavioral therapy services to children diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorders. As a speech-language pathologist, she has worked in public schools (preschool through high school), Early Intervention home based and day care programs, provided teletherapy services for rural schools in Pennsylvania and Canada as well as worked privately with individuals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Mrs. Gabler currently holds a NJ State License as a Speech Language Pathologist, NJ Speech and Language Specialist Certification and Supervisor Certification from the Department of Education, and her Certificate of Clinical competence through the American Speech Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA).
Mrs. Maglio, M.S. CCC-SLP
Mrs. Brianna Maglio, M.S., CCC-SLP earned her Master of Science degree in Speech & Language Pathology (SLP) from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA in 2008 and has been an activity practicing SLP for more than 15 years. Mrs. Maglio has worked in New Jersey and California servicing children and adults in a variety of settings including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Early Intervention, public schools (PreK-12th grade), outpatient hospital, inpatient hospital, as well as subacute rehabilitation facilities. Mrs. Maglio holds a New Jersey SLP state license, New Jersey Speech Specialist certification from the Department of Education, and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA). Mrs. Maglio has been working in the South Brunswick School District and has been one of the full-time SLPs at Brunswick Acres since 2018. She loves her career and is thrilled to be working with the students and families at Brunswick Acres!
