Speech ServicesThere is one primary speech language pathologist (aka: speech specialist, SLP, or speech therapist) at Brunswick Acres Elementary School who evaluates and treats students with speech and language disorders. Eligibility for services is determined and aligned with the standards set forth by N.J.A.C. 6A:14. These disorders may include receptive language, expressive language, pragmatic language / social skills, articulation, voice, and fluency. Additional roles include collaborating with teachers and providing strategies, providing in-class support for student learning, and participating in SST, IEP, and eligibility meetings.

Mrs. Gabler, M.S. CCC-SLP earned her Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from William Paterson University. Mrs. Gabler has been practicing as a speech language professional for more than 15 years. Prior to this, she provided discrete trial educational and behavioral therapy services to children diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorders. As a speech-language pathologist, she has worked in public schools (preschool through high school), Early Intervention home based and day care programs, provided teletherapy services for rural schools in Pennsylvania and Canada as well as worked privately with individuals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Mrs. Gabler holds a NJ and PA State License as a Speech Language Pathologist, NJ and PA Speech and Language Specialist Certification from the Department of Education, and her Certificate of Clinical competence through the American Speech Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA).
